DIY – Let’s create a Fall Vignette

Hello Friends,

Happy Autumn!  Looking for some Fall Inspiration –

I love decorating for Fall.  Don’t you!

Today, let’s create a Fall Vignette for your dining room table.  We’ll create a new design – a focal point to make the vignette – uniquely your own.

We’ll make an autumn wreath arrangement and dress it up with a glass hurricane and an ivory candle.  It’ll be the perfect focal point in the room.

Let’s get started –

Here’s my Easy step-by-step instructions for this artificial DIY fall table wreath.

 Step 1 – Let’s go shopping!

Here’s the shopping list.

  • 14″ grapevine wreath,
  • green Christmas garland.  You may find you have a few extra pieces of garland in your Christmas stash.  I’m using a Christmas pine garland in this wreath.
  • variety of your favorite Autumn berries, leaves and decor pieces
  • dark brown vines
  • pine cones and a lotus pod
  • glue gun and glue sticks
  • pliers or florists wire cutter

Tips:

Before you head out to gather your supplies – check your supplies at home.  You may have a few decor pieces that’ll work perfectly in your design.

When shopping for the supplies pick a variety of your favorite Autumn decor pieces and a 14″ grapevine wreath.  You’ll find a nice selection of autumn decor pieces at Hobby Lobby, Michaels or your favorite craft store.  If you need a florists wire cutter, check out AFloral, Wholesale Floral or your nearby hardware stores.

ROUND GRAPEVINE WREATHWhen choosing a grapevine wreath, it’s important to find one that lays flat and has a nice round shape.

Green Christmas Garland Check your Christmas stash for a few extra pieces of garland for this gorgeous wreath arrangement.

Step 2 – Cut the Christmas Garland so you have about 15, 1.5″ pieces.  Adding the garland to the wreath will give your wreath arrangement a much fuller – rustic look.

Step 4 – Circle the wreath with the swords leaves and branches.  Add green foliage and a few of your favorite fall pics.

Your wreath arrangement is starting to take shape.

Step 5 – Continue to add your favorite autumn pics.  I’ve added seasonal fall berries, harvest orange and dark brown autumn decor pics, and a few ivies to my design.  Glue the pics in place.

Next, I added green leaves and autumn red blooms randomly around the design.  I used 8 – 10 leaves and red blooms.  Add a pine cone, and two lotus pods.  You’re almost finished!

Glue the pics in place and your wreath is ready for a glass hurricane and candle.  It’s so pretty!

Now it’s time to create the Vignette on your table.  My vignette is a simple grouping of black lanterns with the autumn arrangement you just designed.  I dressed my table with Black and White Buffalo Check, white and gold plates and a gold charger.  I used woven round place mats to finish the Fall look.

I love the look of buffalo check for Fall and Christmas.  It’s a fun look in the summer months too.  You could dress up your table with buffalo check and a large white pitcher full of sunflowers –  a fun look for the summer.

You’ll find a nice selection of black and white buffalo check and other seasonal table runners, place mats and napkins at Kirkland’s, Pottery Barn, Pier 1, and many other fine retailers.

Your new design LOOKS AMAZING!

Enjoy!
