How to create a new festive look for Autumn

The seasons are changing and Autumn has arrived.

Autumn is a wonderful time of year.  With cooler weather, come thoughts of decorating for the season. This morning I pulled out my Fall decorations and decided it was time to get rid of a few of my fall basics.  I’m ready for a new look.  I put together a few new designs – a new look for our home.

Here are a few fun and easy ways to decorate your home for the season.

Fabulous Fall Inspiration ideas!

I filled my wooden dough bowl with colorful pumpkins, berries, pine cones, and eucalyptus.  I use my wooden dough bowls throughout the year.  They’re perfect for any season or occasion.  Fill a dough bowl with your seasonal favorites, pumpkins, berries, and pine cones for Fall, holiday ornaments in your favorite colors, or candles with fresh eucalyptus and red berries for Christmas.

Looking for a wooden dough bowl?  Dough bowls come in many sizes and are often used as display pieces for a table.   You’ll find a nice selection at WayfairPottery Barn, and West Elm.

Freshen up your home with a few new festive arrangements.

I added this pretty fall arrangement to a table in our hearth room.  I love the plum and warm berry colors of this arrangement.

Then I added this fall pumpkin arrangement in this rustic copper vessel to our library. The earth-tone colors are gorgeous.

Decorate your dining room table with an Autumn centerpiece.

If you’d like to learn how to make this centerpiece – I can show you how.  Check out my DIY – Let’s create a Fall Vignette.

Love the black lanterns and black and white buffalo check table runner with this rustic centerpiece.   Looking for a nice buffalo check table runner?  You’ll find many pretty table runners at Kirkland’sPottery Barn, and Kohl’s.

pitcher full of Sunflowers is a fun way to decorate through the summer months into fall.

This arrangement is so easy to put together and takes very little time.  Add ivies and large Sunflowers to a white pitcher.  Add a few feathers and you’re finished.  And … what a pretty vignette.

Pillows and throws are an easy way to add color to a room.

Each year I look for new Fall throws and pillows for our home.

Love these cute Pumpkin Pillows! Black and white buffalo check pumpkins, bright pumpkins, and neutrals.

Lanterns are a fall essential at our home.

They are so easy to decorate with too.  Look at these fun lanterns!

Add a lantern to your kitchen countertop. In this lantern, I added a candle on a silver candle holder. Then added a few pumpkins and pine cones to the counter and on a rustic cake stand.

Add a new Autumn wreath to your front door. Love this festive wreath!

I always dress up my front porch with pretty mums, pumpkins, and a couple of wreaths. One wreath for our door and the other wreath on a wreath hanger. Isn’t this wreath gorgeous?

Decorating your front entrance area is as easy as pie, pumpkin pie, that is.

Decorate with corn stalks, pumpkins, gourds, and pretty mums. And top it off with a festive autumn wreath.
